So, a new blog same ol' Captain, and hopefully you find my post as hand trembling as i do. My friends, get your credit cards ready! Now a day, almost everyone has a jump drive, ipod, or otherwise portable storage device. So many things, so little time. Speaking of time......

I can tell you want one already.......

8GB ( not a typo), count em' 8, on your wrist, everyplace you go!!! 1.5-inch display with OLED technology, and supports video, music, pictures and the classic watch function. store MP4/WMV/AVI videos to watch them on the 160 x 128 pixels display at 25 frames per second, MP3/WMA/WAV audio files at 32~320Kbps, and JPEG pictures.
The watch shows 24 hour style time, date, and comes with built-in microphone for sound recording in WAV file format, and with 2.5/3.5 mm earphone jack, Chinese/German/English/Italian/French/Portuguese/Spanish/Polish languages support, USB 2.0 connectivity, and compatibility with Windows 98/SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista operating system. RIAA bullying 10 yr olds / disabled

From Xeni (woohoo we love Xeni) at BoingBoing
"Despite her disabled mom's claims of innocence, The RIAA is insisting on deposing Tanya Andersen's 10-year-old daughter in Atlantic v. Andersen, in Oregon. The child was 7 years old at the time of the alleged infringement."
Wtf? What on earth is the point of putting a child through the intimidating process of a deposition. Do 5 RIAA ASSHAT lawyers, in suits that cost more than this little girls mom makes in a year on SS Disability, really need to stare down a little girl? What cost is there to intellectual property? And I didn't realize that Oregon was a hot bed of downloading. How much music could a 7 year old have downloaded? I'd love to meet the giant pussy lead barrister who is making an issue of this. Where the fuck is your common sense? And BTW where the hell is the judge to put a stop to this?

I can't take this shit! The RIAA are going to single handedly be responsible for the complete implosion of the industry they want to protect. How fucking difficult is it for you fucktards to realize that you need to leap into the new millennium and start doing business the way people want to do business in this day and age. We are willing to pay for the music, not for your fucking executive salaries, armies of lawyers, golden parachutes, pointless gigantic ad campaigns, payola radio budgets, and all the other bullshit that has nothing to do with music. We're tired of paying for plastic shrink wrap, clear cases, stupid warning label ultra hyped neon stickers, card board cut out life size images of the latest fuckin loser you're promoting, simply cause thats the way you're daddy did it. Stop sucking so much and maybe we'll download from your site,, OHHHHH yeah WE CANT cause you retards won't get with the fucking program!

Fuck your DRM

Fuck your Gestapo legal tactics

FUCK YOU RIAA

and FYIthe labels responsible for harassing this little girl, hiding behind there asswipe lawyers are....

-Atlantic Recording
-Priority Records
-Capitol Records
-UMG Music and
-BMG Music.

From the recordingindustryvspeople website

Way to go! You should be proud that your lawyers are billing you 10,000% of the actual damage this may have done to you.....FUCKIN' BRILLIANT!

Daily Beats ...Fresh beats served daily

"welcome to dailybeats - a simple blog were you can find fresh beats every day. at least this is the plan."

Thats what appears in the "About" section of Daily Beats. What appears daily in the content are some of the slammingest mixes from some of the top working jocks and uber-djs in downloadable format.

So I am listening to one of the mixes and it's pretty slamming...

The mixes are continuous but in most all cases you get a list of the tracks in the post and a link to download the full mp3. The mixes average 30-40 minutes give or take with some longer exceptions.

Here the sh-nizzle though....if you use Google Reader go and subscribe to the feed and when you receive each new post you'll be able to preview it immediately right in your reader!!!!!!!

Great Tangle Free Headphone Solution....

Here's a great and simple solution for keeping your headphones from tangling. Thanks to Gizmodo via Lifehacker.....

OurStory.com - Go beyond blogging. Capture your life events to share online or just with your friends. FREE

Make MP3's from your Cassettes, PC on a Stick and more!

from Lifehacker one of DJ J's all-time favorite blogs!

I love the Lifehacker blog! It is always full of useful stuff and today is no different. There were two REALLY good posts today and I wanted to share the love.

MP3's from Cassettes

I get asked all the time if i can transfer tapes to cd. Some material, particularly recordings of live events, concerts, etc. is just not available in the digital format. Lifehacker, One of my favorite blogs in the universe has posted easy to follow instructions for transferring your tapes into the digital realm. This doesn't do anything to help clean the tapes up. They will still have the same crappy tape sound that they always did, but you can put your brothers garage band recording of "Stairway to Heaven" on your iPod. Rock on Bro...Rock on!

PC on a Stick

Both DJGreggieC and I carry virtual desktops around with us on flash drives. There are tons of reasons why you may want to do this but it can get to be "challenging" if you don't have top notch skills. Thats where MojoPac comes in. It goes way beyond just portable apps (like portable firefox), or virtual machines, it gives you, well a PC on a stick! Why would you want such a thing well ....

Your "PC on a stick" lets you do all sorts of things, like: * Listen to your music library, watch videos and download podcasts from any PC with iTunes installed on your MojoPac (along the lines of Adam's self-sustaining iPod, but using full-on iTunes.)

* Watch downloaded video like movies or TV shows with your media player of choice from any PC on your MojoPac.

* Play PC games like World of Warcraft, Everquest or Half-Life from any PC and take the game and its current state with you.

* Use expensive PC software you have limited licenses for, like Microsoft Office or Photoshop, from any computer.

* Surf with your preferred browser, store your passwords and other sensitive data separate from an untrusted host PC.

* Backup working copies of your essential software so that if your computer crashes or hard drive fails, you can plug your MojoPac into another PC and have a working environment ready to go."
