Lee Iacocca...Common Sense call to outrage
Corporation from its death throes? He has a new
book, and here are some excerpts. I couldn't agree more. We need many more people to be pissed off and asking our leaders to explain themselves.
Lee Iacocca Says:
'Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up
with what's happening? Where the hell is our
outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder. We've
got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of
state right over a cliff, we've got corporate
gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even clean
up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car.
But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and
nods their heads when the politicians say, 'Stay the
course'
Stay the course? You've got to be kidding. This
is America not the damned 'Titanic'. I'll give you
a sound bite: 'Throw all the bums out!'
You might think I'm getting senile, that I've
gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone
has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country
anymore.
The most famous business leaders are not the
innovators but the guys in handcuffs. While we're
fiddling in Iraq , the Middle East is burning and
nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is
waving 'pom-poms' instead of asking hard
questions. That's not the promise of the ' America '
my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for.
I've had enough. How about you?
I'll go a step further. You can't call yourself a
patriot if you're not outraged. This is a fight I'm
ready and willing to have.
The Biggest 'C' is Crisis!
Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged
in times of crisis. It's easy to sit there with your
feet up on the desk and talk theory. Or send someone
else's kids off to war when you've never seen a
battlefield yourself. It's another thing to lead
when your world comes tumbling down
On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader
more than any other time in our history. We needed a
steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A Hell of
a Mess
So here's where we stand. We're immersed in a
bloody war with no plan for winning and no plan for
leaving. We're running the biggest deficit in the
history of the country.. We're losing the
manufacturing edge to Asia , while our once-great
companies are getting slaughtered by health care
costs Gas prices are skyrocketing, and nobody in
power has a coherent energy policy. Our schools are
in trouble. Our borders are like sieves. The middle
class is being squeezed every which way. These are
times that cry out for leadership.
But when you look around, you've got to ask:
'Where have all the leaders gone?' Where are the
curious, creative communicators? Where are the
people of character, courage, conviction,
omnipotence, and common sense? I may be a sucker
for alliteration, but I think you get the point.
Name me a leader who has a better idea for
homeland security than making us take off our shoes
in airports and throw away our shampoo? We've spent
billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy,
and all we know how to do is react to things that
have already happened.
Name me one leader who emerged from the crisis of
Hurricane Katrina. Congress has yet to spend a
single day evaluating the response to the hurricane,
or demanding accountability for the decisions that
were made in the crucial hours after the storm.
Everyone's hunkering down, fingers crossed,
hoping it doesn't happen again. Now, that's just
crazy. Storms happen. Deal with it. Make a plan.
Figure out what you're going to do the next time.
Name me an industry leader who is thinking
creatively about how we can restore our competitive
edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed that
there could ever be a time when 'The Big Three'
referred to Japanese car companies? How did this
happen, and more important, what are we going to do
about it?
Name me a government leader who can articulate a
plan for paying down the debit, or solving the
energy crisis, or managing the health care problem.
The silence is deafening. But these are the crises
that are eating away at our country and milking the
middle class dry
I have news for the gang in Congress. We didn't
elect you to sit on your asses and do nothing and
remain silent while our democracy is being hijacked
and our greatness is being replaced with mediocrity.
What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead
on Fox News will call them a name? Give me a break.
Why don't you guys show some spine for a change?
Had Enough?
Hey, I'm not trying to be the voice of gloom and
doom here. I'm trying to light a fire. I'm speaking
out because I have hope I believe in America . In my
lifetime I've had the privilege of living through
some of America's greatest moments.. I've also
experienced some of our worst crises: the 'Great
Depression', 'World War II', the 'Korean War', the
'Kennedy Assassination', the 'Vietnam War', the
1970s oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years
culminating with 9/11. If I've learned one thing,
it's this: 'You don't get anywhere by standing on the
sidelines waiting for somebody else to take action.
Whether it's building a better car or building a
better future for our children, we all have a role
to play. That's the challenge I'm raising in this
book. It's a call to 'Action' for people who, like
me, believe in America . It's not too late, but it's
getting pretty close. So let's shake off the crap
and go to work. Let's tell 'em all we've had
'enough.'
It's OK according to SNOPES

Why isn't THIS on the NEWS 24/7!!!??!?
Folks things are gonna get bumpy.
"Anybody got a match? I say we blow the joint"
Hillary Clinton will make John McCain President

You just have to laugh as you watch it happen. Hillary Clinton cannot mathematically win the Democratic nomination for President by all the math anyone can project and yet her ego will not concede the point. So over the next 7 weeks she will feed the Republicans every bit of ammunition that they need to destroy Barrack Obama in the general election. She will destroy all the party building that Obama's campaign has managed to accomplish. She will force this scorched Earth agenda and disgust and dishearten all the new voters that felt that they finally were going to get a moment to see the Democratic party seize control of a hopeful agenda.
Hillary Clinton's blind ambition and desire to be President will be the undoing of any progress that the Democratic party may have made in this election cycle.
AND I LOVE IT!
Every argument that she makes against Obama's inexperience strengthens John McCain s hand to say that his experience far outstretches hers. Every stone she throws to ripple the pool creates a tidal wave that the Democratic party will have to withstand in a general election. As she stomps all over the illusion of a fair and democratic process she will expose the democratic nomination process for the sham that it is. As democrats begin to realize that they have no real voice in the process they will go back to being disillusioned and to feeling disenfranchised.
AND I LOVE IT!
For the next 4 months the Republican party will organize, and fund raise while Hillary morphs from bitch to gentle snowflake and back again as the winds of change demand. While the Republican machine organizes and energizes the base, Hillary and her completely inept campaign staff will sink the democratic party in a sea of muck and mire from which they will have to pull their boots, with a deafening sucking sound to plod awkwardly toward the finish line only to realize that they won the battle but lost the war. Obama has a real shot at defeating the Republican party whoever the nominee, by running on his optimistic, eloquent, inspirational tone. Hell the man even inspires me and I disagree vehemently with his policies. Hillary Clinton will not beat John McCain in a general election.
AND I LOVE IT!

Keep this in mind as you watch the Politicians
* You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
* You cannot help little men by tearing down big men.
* You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
* You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
* You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.
* You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
* You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.
* You cannot build character and courage by destroying men's initiative and independence.
* And you cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves.—William J. H. Boetcker

Hillary Care...You'll get it and YOU'LL pay for it Like it or not!

"Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to garnish the wages of workers who refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans. The New York senator has criticized presidential rival Barack Obama for pushing a health plan that would not require universal coverage. Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed on ABC's "This Week," she said: "I think there are a number of mechanisms" that are possible, including "going after people's wages, automatic enrollment."So you'll get whatever care SHE decides you should have and she'll use the Federal Governments muscle to suck the costs out of your paycheck if you don't like it. Ask yourself if you want to live in a country that tells you what you must do when it comes to your personal health.
How far does this go?
Got a fetus with serious medical problems? You'll have an abortion or Hillary Health will garnish your wages as a penalty for burdening the Hillary Health system with your ridiculous, selfish desire to LIVE FREE in the United states of America.
Didn't work out this morning in CITIZEN CLINTON CALISTHENICS? That'll cost you. Right out of your paycheck.
Have sex without a condom and you already have 2 children? You'll be getting a knock on the door from your friendly Hillary Health Sterilization for the Common Good team.

NOT NOW.
NOT EVER.
Letter from Ron Paul - Nevada 2nd place finish
Here is the most recent letter from Dr. Paul received moments ago....
January 21, 2008
What a shot in the arm the Nevada caucuses were, where we took the silver as #2, beating McCain, Huckabee, Thompson, and -- of course -- Giuliani. We also got four more delegates. In South Carolina, we beat Rudy again. A big thank you to all our wonderful donors, volunteers, and voters. So many people worked so hard to spread our message of liberty, honest money, peace, and free-market prosperity. I owe you all my deepest gratitude. So do our fellow citizens. So do all future Americans. Most of the mainstream media continue to pretend that we do not exist. Yet soon the race will be down to four candidates-Romney, McCain, Huckabee, and me, and there is no stopping us, as Tim Russert grudgingly pointed out the other night. Thanks to you, we are in this all the way through a brokered convention.
Nevada, by the way, is known as the Silver State for a reason-its great mining industry produced the precious metal for the beautiful silver dollars minted at the fabled Carson City mint. These constitutional coins, include .775 ounces of silver, in accord with the Coinage Act of 1792. Today these coins, worth $1 in my father's day, have about $14 in silver. That is, the dollar is worth 1/14th of what it was, thanks to the counterfeiting Federal Reserve.
The Fed has again taken our country into a terrible crisis. Who else is talking about honest money that cannot be printed up at will by DC bureaucrats? My opponents in both parties are all some variety of print-and-spend Keynesians. Only we are telling the truth, about who is to blame for this recession, and how we can build real prosperity with sound money, no IRS, no deficit, and strict obedience to the Constitution. And, of course, no hyper-expensive, hyper-dangerous empire all around the globe.
When I met with some great ladies in Charleston, all of whom wore beautiful hats, I talked about the young people flocking to our banner. "Don't forget the young at heart," said one. Darn right! A youthful outlook, work ethic, and optimism characterizes all of us. Frederic Bastiat predicted many years ago that liberty would be saved by the young. He might have added the young at heart as well, and how right he was!
I continue to be astounded not only by all our revolutionaries, but by our fellow travelers. Democrats and even the workers for my Republican opponents come up to me to talk about our ideas. They are fascinated, and want to learn more. Reaching so many people doesn't necessarily mean a victory in the next primary, but it counts for the real changes we want in our country, now and for our children and grandchildren.
Of course, I am mainly paying attention to the next primary! We are working hard in Florida, in Louisiana for the caucuses, and then for Super Tuesday in more than 20 states. Meanwhile, the whole world is watching how we do tomorrow in fundraising, on a day dedicated to the memory of Martin
Luther King, the great champion of non-violence at home, peace abroad, and civil disobedience against tyrannical government.
Please make your most generous donation https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/ . We can't let this movement be stopped, nor slowed. I promise you that I will continue to pour all my heart and mind and strength into the battle. I know you will too. Let's work together for all we love, and all we hope for: freedom! Surely, it is worth all our efforts.
Sincerely,
Ron

Sunday
It's time to take a stand...
It does not matter to me that his chances of winning the Republican nomination are slim. What does matter to me is that the ideas he has put forth get attention. That a return to the ideals that made this country great becomes the mission of every individual who grew up, as I did believing the lessons of our history teachers.
I believe it is time for the Republican party, of which I am a member, to get a wake up call. I will encourage those of my fellow Republicans who long for a return to the values which made it my party of choice to support Ron Paul in the upcoming primary. It is time for us to take up a new mantle, it is time for us to separate ourselves from the posturing and pomp which stand in stark contrast to the parties declared ideas and ideals of the parties platform.
These words are my own.
This is my passion for my country.
I believe that we need a return to the Constitution. It is time for us to embrace our freedoms not turn them over to a bureaucracy that claims it will protect us from ourselves. I believe that it is time that we stand up and declare our intent to protect our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness granted by our creator, for which so many of our fellow citizens past and present have given all they had to give. No more erosion of personal freedoms in the name of fear and distrust.
It is time to remind the career politicians that their powers are limited by the Constitution and those powers not given to them are reserved for our state legislatures, who should be free from Federal interference and strong arm tactics based on the threats of withholding our own tax dollars.
We need a return to fiscal responsibility. It is time to eliminate the income tax system that benefits only the bureaucratic machine, confuses and frustrates those who seek the American dream of prosperity and seeks to serve only those who know how to manipulate it to their own advantage. It is time for us to decry the irresponsible economics of the Federal Reserve which was established to ensure the strength of our currency but through manipulation has devalued it in the world market. It is time to return to the gold standard to strengthen our dollar and to base our economy on substance not foreign loans.
It is time to say NO to ALL special interests. It is time to say NO to deficit spending on foreign policy initiatives, NO to government subsidies of mismanaged businesses, NO to welfare programs that don't help people but rather perpetuate their dependence on hand-outs, and NO to billions and billions of defense dollars which subsidize not a stronger more well equipped military but rather a military industrial complex that seeks to fatten its profit margin.
It is time for a return to sanity in our political discourse. To protect OUR interest here at home FIRST and foremost. To feed OUR hungry. To rebuild OUR infrastructure. To work on the United States of America together. Then and only then can we look to help our neighbors, by trading with them. By exchanging ideas and offering our services and goods to strengthen them. We are no example to the world of the health and vitality of self government until we are once again committed to these principles. Let us govern ourselves FIRST, strong, united and free. We are the greatest nation in the world not because we are the biggest bully, or the world policeman, or the seemingly endless resource for assistance, but because we enjoy the outstanding freedoms guaranteed by our unique Constitution, and our mutual pledge to one another to protect those freedoms at all cost.
" We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.."...ordained and established the most brilliant document ever conceived by the mind of men. The Constitution of the United States of America.
I urge you to educate yourself regarding Dr. Paul and his positions on these and other important issues.
So long as Dr. Paul continues to raise these issues, and fight to ensure that these ideals are paid the attention they so critically deserve, he has my support.

WINTER/SUMMER/SPRING/FALL STORM WORST EVER
These stories are usually followed on TV by "We'll tell you all about it at eleven!"
Luckily for some there are alternatives. Small, local station, magazines and newspapers that refuse to stoop to this practice. They hang on...barely....because in the United States we have taken steps to ensure that even small voices have a chance to get heard. Well the FCC has had enough of that...(Mostly cause big media has DEEP pockets and lobbyist like to dump MASSIVE amounts of cash on folks who can change things) So today you "may" have heard..
The FCC approved new rules that will unleash a flood of media consolidation across America. The new rules will further consolidate local media markets -- taking away independent voices in cities already woefully short on local news and investigative journalism.
Congress has the power to throw out these rules -- and if 100,000 people demand it, they'll have to listen. Sign the open letter to Congress urging them to stop the FCC and stand with the public interest.
Help us reach our goal of 100,000 Signatures CLICK HERE and sign our letter. This consolidation of media will not benefit YOU or I. It ONLY benefits the bottom line of BIG MEDIA COMPANIES and will allow them to spoon feed us their version of the news virtually unchecked! Again I ask you to take action NOW!

Rescue Internet Radio...
![]() |
Internet music may soon fall silent.
An obscure regulatory agency recently buckled under pressure from giant music labels and passed a rule that could force most independent and noncommercial Internet radio stations, such as NPR, off the Web. The ruling will go into effect on May 15 unless we urge Congress to Rescue Internet Radio:
Rescue Internet Radio: Take Action Now
After intense lobbying from the recording industry the Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) ignored a massive public outcry and ruled to dramatically increase the rates webcasters must pay every time they stream a song. These draconian rules will shut down noncommercial and independent Internet radio outlets, leaving the Web with the same cookie-cutter music formats that have destroyed commercial radio.
Independent musicians, webcasters, media reformers and Internet radio listeners have joined forces with members of Congress to reverse this bad decision. Late last week, Reps. Jay Inslee (D-Wash.) and Donald Manzullo (R-Ill.) introduced the bipartisan Internet Radio Equality Act (H.R. 2060), which would reverse the CRB decision in favor of a system that supports artists without putting webcasters out of business.
Rescue Internet Radio: Support the Internet Radio Equality Act
The Copyright Royalty Board passed these bad rules despite protest letters from tens of thousands of concerned music listeners. They refused our call for a public hearing and rushed through their decision at the urging of music industry lobbyists from the Recording Industry Association of America.
Musicians must be compensated for their work. But the new regulations would silence many outlets that play independent artists and musical genres you can't find on the radio dial. And nonprofit NPR, Pacifica and community radio stations would be forced to take down most of their online musical programming.
Inslee and Manzullo's legislation would allow artists and musicians to thrive alongside a new generation of Internet radio webcasters. Help pass the Internet Radio Equality Act by telling all your friends to take action now:
Tell Your Friends to Help Rescue Internet Radio
Industry-wide consolidation has destroyed musical diversity on broadcast radio. We must not let this happen to the Internet.
