DJs Raise Your...... Bank Accounts!

Okay, so maybe I've been MIA from the blog scene for a little bit. But I'm back now.... That's what really matters, right?

Oh, so it's gonna be like that?

Well, let me change your tune with THIS. Victims of heart attacks with clogged arteries eat your, well, hearts out. Let's say hello to the PACEMAKER the future PMP leaders of the world.....
Oh, so now I have your attention?
Well, sit back and let me blow your mind with thisbad boys SPECS.....

And a USB 2.0 connector
Can you feel your chest bumping like a SUB yet?
Lets Push Onward, Shall We?
120GB Storage
MP3, VBR, AAC, Lossless WMA, OGG, FLAC, and WAV..... ALL SUPPORTED!!!
IPOD HAS BEEN SMOKED!!!

On top of all that, Your mixes can be saved, and shared.
Now for the... still good, but not great news. It's scheduled for shipment in February, right around the corner!!! Now, the bad news. As is to be expected, something this cool comes with a rather hefty $PRICE TAG$
Roughly $800
....but for a piece of equipment that can carry plenty of music for any event, and weighing in at less then a pound, shrinks the price tag.
I know I won't be seeing mine for some time (I'm #4235), I'll be happy when it's time for me to spend a lil dough, ease my aching back, and of course take one small step towards the big FU reserved for Steve Jobs and his "fruity" empire!
ALL HAIL the PACEMAKER!!!!

The Power Hour just Got Gadgeted - The Shot Caller

I am definitely getting old. I used to be a party animal. Honestly. I used to play all the drinking games there were to play. Then I became a family guy, started a business and well....I fell out of touch with the party set. Today in my GReader I get this story, from Gizmodo...the gadget guide about this new cool gadget called The Shot Caller which helps you play Power Hour, Century Club, or Sick & Twisted.

Huh?

I had to Google these games to find out what the hell they were! I mean it's bad enough that beer pong came into it's prime after I passed out of mine but now I missed these brilliant games? Oh the humanity! Anyhow....if you're NOT an old fart like me and you want to step up your Power Hour play it seems that The Shot Clock is the way to go...$14.99 shipped...you can have it for X-mas or better yet for New Years Eve. Take your game Pro...with The Shot Caller.

If you happen to be like me

and are extremely into gadgets, toys, and random miscellaneous shit that no real, normal, person would be able to find everyday uses for, let alone want to have on hand at a moments notice. Which really make the whole bag/backpack route rather inconvenient... Hence the reason that when i came across this clothing line, i placed a rather large order right away ($200, and arriving Monday) Over at Scott E. Vest, you can find clothing to fit any kind of gadget guy or girl in any situation. Being as I leave for Cali. at the end of the week, i thought that with airports, and security being able to keep the things that i want right at hand(Ipod, camera, water, sunglasses, PSP, cell phone, keys, plane tickets, wallet.... get my drift???) Being avid in the outdoors, when i get some time i cant wait to have these camping, or doing some rock climbing :-D This is The Captain, signing off till later.... FIRE UP....

One Last thing, for all our philly readers, Radio 104.5fm has changed their format again, as of about 3 weeks ago i think... Since i found it, i have not turned my radio off... Drop by and give a listen, tell em' The Captain sent you!!!

Make RECORD time when driving....???

The fastest way between any two points, is a straight line right... Maybe, but not when your driving. Some lights just suck, and you wind up sitting at some lights, for 3-5 minuets... Well, I know that as a mobile DJ, on the road every weekend, i avoid the lights that take forever to turn green, or even just get through. So, when I STUMBLED across this video, i had to share it. I don't know if it works yet, and should you try it before i do, show some LOVE and let me know. Somehow, i cant really imagine that it is as easy as taking a remote and programing "9-1-1" works, but there must be a way. Be careful, I'm sure this cant be legal, but could be fun never-the-less.... Enjoy!!!

Turn you Laptop into a Tablet w/ Touchscreen

Ok no fucking way! This is too cool. As the entire Yamagoo crew uses Laptop computers, when I got this in the Greader, by way of the Gizmodo, I was stunned into covetous silence. It's the Laptop Tablet and it converts your lappies LCD into a touchscreen by way of USB. You can use the pen that is included in with the unit, or your finger, or anything else that can touch the screen for that matter. I can imagine that this would be cool for many of the DJ programs that we all use. Particularly Virtual DJ, with a nice big button skin.

The unit is from a company called NAVIsis and has some really reasonable requirements, which means that I could attach it to one of my older lappies and it would work just fine. In theory it ought to work with ANY LCD. According to the Gizmodo post it costs $130. Not bad at all!

Humping dog made useful

You have undoubtedly seen this Humping dog flash toy.(..if not look here, and here.)
The gang over at Everything USB are reporting a successful hack to this totally useless, though sort of funny, piece of crap. (Why would anyone give up valuable USB real estate to this? How much time can you spend watching a plastic dog have buttsecks with your Dell dude?)

Anyway the hack adds an external flash drive to the dog and now he only humps during a data transfer. BRILLIANT! This thing is totally useful now. No more looking for that blinky light. If the flash drive is a rockin', don't go unplugin'! I want one yesterday. Better yet someone get me one that looks like a DJ scratching while the data transfer is happening THAT would be Freakin Sweet!

I want this game so bad it's fucking ridiculous! I can't justify just buying it outright until after the holiday but i sure hope my family has been paying attention!

Anyway GO and learn!

Gotta love Sihouette Ads

From Gizmodo our favorite gadget site on the web....

Who could forget the iBuzz, that fun little sex toy that hooks up to an iPod and vibrates in tandem with the music? Hope you already bought yours because it looks like Apple is about to shut them down. Apparently, Apple is taking issue with some of iBuzz's adverts, like the one seen here. I guess Apple isn't too keen about having "its" silhouette campaign hijacked by a bunch of smut peddlers. Or, in legalese...
"Our client owns the copyright in all the images used in its 'Silhouette' advertising campaign and actively polices its rights in order to protect itself and its consumers.... Certain images used on your website (www.ibuzz.co.uk) may have been copied or substantially copied from those in which our client own the copyright, without our client's consent... Your use of such images amounts to copyright infringement."

Oh, boo hoo, Apple.

Record Direct to YouTube

From Gizmodo.com...(if you haven't ever read Gizmodo.com, and your a "gadget" head like Greggie, Tommy and I, you need to go now and read, read, read)

So as of yesterday it was ridiculously easy to record to YouTube. Just record, save, and upload. Done.

Today it got even easier if you have a webcam. Using the Adobe Flash Player API, YouTube can now connect to your webcam and record directly to the site. And by getting rid of the saving and uploading step a huge barrier has been removed for a lot of users. Since saving/uploading have been the biggest complaints about the site this should have a huge impact on the company.

Plus any of you built in webcam users (I'm looking at you MacBook's & MacBook Pro's) you've got a mobile YouTube studio now.– Ben Longo
