The Street View feature of Google Maps is expanding today to offer detailed views of six new cities: Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland and Tucson. The announcement continues Google’s roll out of Street View, which provides photos of the actual locations you’re looking at on Google Maps. Additionally, Google has added the ability to pan up to see the view above the street. In the example below, you can see the view from the street looking up at the Sears Tower in Chicago.

So keep your eyes peeled, your noses clean....and beware lest you get caught on the Schuykill Firing uP!

Reader Beware

So, while driving with my bor DJ Greggie C today, i mentioned that i killed 2-3 Wolf Spiders in his house, a common spider for our area. I was mistaken in saying that Wolf Spider bites are bad, and that they are the same as the Brown Recluse, which i think was the bases for the movie Arachnophobia. I mentioned a few pictures I stumbled upon, and felt I should share them with our readers.These Photos, Are at days 3, 5, 6, 9, and 10 following the inital bite.. Please, Don't get bitten! But, if you do... share the pictures!!

Twitter and Google Search Surprise Recipes by category

Have you heard of Twitter? Twitter is the smallest imaginable way to micro-blog or "life" blog ....from the Twitter website...

But this post isn't really about Twitter.

You see I use Twitter sort of as an experiment to see if people respond to these new social networking apps by clicking on links. So far so good, and it is pretty interesting to read what some of the people are up to that they feel they want to share. This leads me to a Tweet (thats what a message in Twitter is called) from my Twitter friend MacFixer. He pointed out that if you search for an ingredient and the word "recipe" in Google you get this cool little feature I hadn't seen before(see pic on right) Now I LOVE to barbecue and spent the last hour or so browsing barbecue recipes and downloading the best to try. Google may indeed take over the world, but I may not be among those who would think that was a bad thing. If they keep dropping cool shit like this, GReader, Gcal, Gmail, and all the other GLove they've given us FREE...imagine what we may yet have in store.

I think we need to role out a full-on Bucky Katt for President campaign. If Bucky runs solely on a legalize it platform, and affordable tuna for all he'll garner our slavish devotion when we're not doing other things that is.
